A Group of Dutch friends Chartered the boat for three days in June, to catch the fish of a lifetime. And hopefully went away happy after catching some great specimens.
The weather was forecast to be poor for 2 of the days but in the end turned out to be very pleasant with the wind increasing slightly in the afternoon, but not enough to make the fishing uncomfortable, which is just as well as one or two of the party were a little the worse for wear on the third Day!
Day one
After aproximatley 40 minutes there was a good take on the rod midships, but after a tense 10 minutes of the fish taking line and just as the angler started to retrieve some line , the line parted and the fish was lost. later in the day a nice conger of about 10-12lb was caught.
Day Two
Saw a marked improvement with several more takes, the anglers managing to land 2 fish of a reasonable size after a considerable battle.
Day Three
After drawing lots for the next fish and some anxious dice playing the lucky angler hooked into a nice fish of about 50Kg, taking approx one hour to get the fish in there was one nasty moment when the line went round the rudder but a quick dip into the water and this was soon put right.
